I am home from my 5 month adventure in Europe! It is crazy to think that it is all over. How has it already come to this? Didn't I just get there? Even though I have only been back for 2 days I have fallen right back into my life here at home (minus now wanting to talk about travels all the time and constantly thinking about my girls from Scotland).
At this current moment in time I am battling jetlag. It is harder then I thought it would be. I just want to go to sleep all-of-the-time. This makes going back to work a little but harder (which I did today and was less painful then it could have been).
As I sort through the endless amount of photos I took over the past few weeks I am going to leave you with some photos from our last infamous international wednesday.
P.S. I kinda sort of really miss Scotland.

an attempt at catching up
I realize that it has been forever since I have posted on here. Apparently updating while traveling this time around has been even more sparse then the last. But I have been having the most amazing time, so I'm forgiven right?
I am currently in Florence, Italy and headed to Rome tomorrow morning. This will be the last city stop on my European adventure and then it is back on a plane to the homeland (aka Canada, just to keep everyone in the loop).
Over the past couple weeks I travelled to Munich, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Venice the whole trip has been amazing and I will be posting photos and talking more about each city when I get back.
For right now I am going to enjoy the rest of my time in italy by eating as much gelato as humanly possible. Oh pasta and pizza too of course. xo

glasgow at its finest
Taking a little break from talking about all of my past travels here are a few pictures from a beautiful day in Glasgow. I am sure going to miss walking around this place. Only 9 days left until I have to move out of here and say bye to my home for the past 4 months.

enjoying our final days
Our last two days in Madrid were spent wandering through plazas (they have a lot of them) and spending countless hours in Buen Retiro Park. The first time we walked through it I was amazed by all of the symmetry in the gardens and then we turned a corner and came across something even more wonderful. I am pretty sure it surprised us all - in the good way of course. There lay this giant pool type thing with a massive statue on one side and lots of little boats floating throughout the water. The weather was insanely hot so we enjoyed the scenery and had our own siestas along the waterside. We went back the next day to further walk through the gardens (the park is huge) and of course to have another siesta. When in Spain right?

And then came the end of our trip. Although sad to leave behind our adventure backpacking through Europe it was nice to get back to Glasgow. I was itching to get home by that time. To my bed (although not that comfortable), to our flat, and to the city that I now consider home. Glasgow may be home for right now but Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Spain will all have a special place in my heart, as will the girls I travelled with. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so glad I got to do it. xo

it's a long term commitment kind of thing
In case you didn't know, I am back from my trip to London/Brussels/Amsterdam. It was a wonderful trip that I will be telling you all about in the coming future. Currently I am busy preparing for exams, enjoying not living out of a backpack and making sure I get the most out of my last month in Glasgow. This also means that I will (finally) be getting back to regular posting!
Moving on to other things - our second day in Paris was magnificent. It included walking along Champs d'elysees, spending time in Montmartre, getting my portrait done, and spending hours in front of the Eiffel Tower.

*I got my portrait done here when I was in Paris 5 years ago. So I decided to get another one done while I was there. I am excited to compare the one I got done then and the one I got done now. Any bets on whether I will look any different? I sure hope so. But I am not going to have high expectations just in case.

The time in Paris was perfect. And I can gladly say that I continue to love Paris just as much as I did when I left 5 years ago. Despite being in a completely different stage in my life the city can still make me fall head over heels with it. I hope this never goes away. See you soon Paris (hopefully). xo

the blue box
I decided to share the insanely awkward photos I took of my room. You can now see the tiny little blue box that I now call home. Honestly it is everything I could need for my time here.
Strings from the ceiling turn the lights on, I don't even dare touch the floor with my bare feet, heat comes out of really old radiators, the window only opens an inch, and my bed is basically a pile of springs. But it is home and I love it :)
