thinking back

We have spent the last few days reminiscing about all of the amazing things we have done over the 4 months we have been here. The wolfpack Euro trip still remains one of the highlights. The places we saw and the things we got to experience together can never be replaced. I think I can speak for the other girls when I say I wish I could do it all again :) Here are a few of my favourite shots from the London-Munich leg of our trip.

enjoying our final days

Our last two days in Madrid were spent wandering through plazas (they have a lot of them) and spending countless hours in Buen Retiro Park. The first time we walked through it I was amazed by all of the symmetry in the gardens and then we turned a corner and came across something even more wonderful. I am pretty sure it surprised us all - in the good way of course. There lay this giant pool type thing with a massive statue on one side and lots of little boats floating throughout the water. The weather was insanely hot so we enjoyed the scenery and had our own siestas along the waterside. We went back the next day to further walk through the gardens (the park is huge) and of course to have another siesta. When in Spain right?

And then came the end of our trip. Although sad to leave behind our adventure backpacking through Europe it was nice to get back to Glasgow. I was itching to get home by that time. To my bed (although not that comfortable), to our flat, and to the city that I now consider home. Glasgow may be home for right now but Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Spain will all have a special place in my heart, as will the girls I travelled with. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so glad I got to do it. xo

the beginning of the end

We were all aware that the time would come when our adventure across 5 countries came to an end but it seemed to go by so quickly, even though our backpacks and lack of clean clothes proved otherwise. Our final destination was Madrid, and it was the perfect place to end our trip. Basically because it consisted of lots and lots of markets, siestas in parks and delicious food. Aka our lack of sleep had caught up to us.
The city was wonderful and the beautiful weather didn't hurt either. We spent a morning lounging in front of a palace (pretty much the perfect life we determined), the afternoon perusing markets (where we picked up some interesting items), and the night dancing away with some new friends we met at our hostel.
Madrid was a lot different than Barcelona, and I think I have to say I liked it a little bit better. The feel was totally different but more up my alley. The next couple days in Madrid were just as wonderful and consisted of the most amazing park I have ever laid my eyes on (don't worry, you will get to see it via photo tomorrow). For now adios. It is time for bed. Studying has made me exhausted and the thought of having to wake up tomorrow and do it all over again is so unappealing. Only 6 days until I am free of exams though!
